What does Roman mean by "retired" or "closed"?

The angel will no longer be produced in the same size or form; but can be produced in another form or size such as a pin, 4" figure, 27" figure, as a musical, picture frame, or as an ornament, by example.

Both terms mean the same thing. "Closed" is used when the angel was produced with a limit stated on the time the angel will be produced such as the 1999 Catalog angel, Patrice.

"Retired" is used when an angel, without original production time limit, will no longer be produced, such as Iris.

Remember, closed and retired editions can still be produced in another size or form. This in itself should not affect the value of your angels since that size will no longer be produced.

By example, Alyssa, the 12" angel is a unique piece, is still the first 12" angel, and will no longer be produced in the 12" size. The 27" Alyssa is a unique piece, and will always be the first 27" angel. We haven't heard if there will be any other 27" angels produced.

Once an edition is closed or retired, the value depends on what collectors are willing to pay, and varies for many reasons. This is the nature and excitement of the collectibles market! We encourage you to collect these beautiful angels because you love them, then they will always be valuable to you!

A word about retired/closed Seraphim Classics:

We actively search for retired/closed Seraphim Classics Angels in mint condition; but the best way to be sure you get your favorite, is to order it as soon as it is announced. Once they retire, no more will be produced. This makes your collection more valuable; but you may not be able to find the Seraphim you want. Don't miss out!
